Based in the Bedfordshire countryside with purpose-built facilities, Murphy & Keady racing will offer your horse its best chance of success and you the best ownership experience available.
TRAINERS
MIKE MURPHY
Mike Murphy was a leading City Analyst and he set up Mike Murphy Racing in 2007 following a number of years of racehorse ownership and having ridden as an Amateur Jockey.
Having initially divided his time between his City work and the racing stables, Mike retired from his analytical duties in 2014 to concentrate on developing Manor Park Stud Farm.

From inception, the strategy has been to develop excellent facilities and hire experienced staff. Now, having trained nearly 200 winners in his own right, he joins forces with current Assistant, Michael, to create Murphy & Keady Racing.
Mike’s wife, Denise, is heavily involved with the administrative work and ensuring the yard is compliant with the ever increasing rules and regulations governing the sport of horse racing.
MICHAEL KEADY
Michael has worked in the racing industry since he left school, having spent time working for some of the top trainers from around the world that include; Dubai World Cup-winning trainer Graham Motion, the acclaimed French jumps trainer Bertran de Balanda and was head man for top northern trainer, Brian Ellison.
Michael has spent the last 6 years as Assistant Trainer at Mike Murphy Racing. Michael and Mike’s working partnership has seen them enjoy some great successes with a good flow of winners out of their yard. This has seen them establish a loyal group of both individual owners & owner syndicates.
Michael is highly experienced in buying and trading racehorses with a keen eye for potential in young stock. With an avid interest in technology, he is always looking for innovative ways of improving the well-being and performance of racehorses.

Whether you're a newcomer to the sport and looking for advice or already an existing owner, both Mike and Michael are on hand to guide you.
We welcome both sole owners and syndicates to the stable and are pleased to offer fantastic facilities to accommodate you.
Owners are kept updated on their horse's wellbeing with regular updates, photos and video messages. We are also able to provide owners with regular data updates on their horses so that they can keep track of the numbers that help guide their horse on its journey to success.
HORSE WELFARE
We love our horses as much as our racing.

We ensure that all of our horses reside in excellent stabling, benefit from top class training facilities and receive the best in veterinary care.
​
New horses arriving at our yard are given the best possible chance of success by being given time to settle in and will undergo a full professional and veterinary assessment before any training is commenced.

We constantly monitor our horses throughout their racing careers using state of the art technology. This gives us the advantage of being able to recognise potential injuries before they happen and adjust training plans as necessary.
Every horse is regularly checked over by our farrier, vet, back specialist and dentist in order to minimise the chance of injury and ensure the animal is in peak condition at every race.

Additionally, when any of our horses are to be retired from racing we ensure that they are always re-homed in a suitable and caring forever home.
